We are seeking a skilled Muller Martini Stitcher Operator to set up and run sewing/stitching lines producing stitched booklets in a commercial print manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on setup, make-ready, and operation of saddlestitching equipment, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, waste control, and troubleshooting.
Set up and operate Muller Martini stitcher lines, including feeders, cover feeders, stitching heads, delivery systems, and inline/offline trimmers as applicable.
Maintain consistent stitch quality, accurate register and spine alignment, and trim precision; manage waste effectively during make-ready and production.
Diagnose and resolve production issues such as doubles, misfeeds, stitch clinch problems, skew, and trim defects.
Perform routine maintenance including stitch head care, lubrication checks, and scheduled clean-downs safely.
Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to support on-time delivery.
Prior experience operating Muller Martini saddlestitching equipment or comparable stitcher systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot stitch/trim issues independently.
Understanding of signatures, pagination, collating, stitch tolerances, and trim tolerances.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a high-volume print finishing environment.
Experience with multiple pocket feeders, inline/offline trimmers, and variable book thickness runs.
Familiarity with production tracking systems, quality documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
