Job Title: Process Tech II

Job Overview:

Establish and optimize injection molding processing parameters using sound molding principles and systematic methodologies. Define and maintain appropriate process monitoring setpoints and tolerances to ensure consistent product quality and process stability. Partner with tooling resources to improve and enhance production molds. Troubleshoot and resolve complex molding quality and efficiency issues. Ensure essential elements of data control and records retention are applied to processing parameters and injection molding machine (IMM) settings so that current, accurate processing information is readily accessible and understandable to all required personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot injection molding processes

  • Establish and maintain IMM settings and process parameters

  • Support mold design, tooling improvements, and production readiness

  • Work with automation, robotics, and secondary operations

  • Perform part sampling, data collection, and basic SPC analysis

  • Develop and improve molding processes for new and existing products

  • Assist with robot programming and EOAT verification

  • Identify and resolve molding, tooling, and quality issues during launches

  • Document process settings, changes, and lessons learned

Key Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on injection molding experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Strong understanding of injection mold qualification and initial process development and validation

  • Proven ability to establish, control, improve, and debug injection molding processes, including cycle time reduction

  • Working knowledge of molding concepts including non-Newtonian flow, pressure-limited injection, and systematic decoupled molding

  • Experience with and understanding of material flow characteristics, molding parameters, and properties of engineering and commodity-grade resins

  • Thorough understanding of injection molding machine (IMM) operation, machine states, controller types, and process monitoring capabilities

  • Basic knowledge of injection mold design principles

  • Basic understanding of automation, industrial robotics, and secondary operations commonly used in injection molding
