Define and maintain appropriate process monitoring setpoints and tolerances to ensure consistent product quality and process stability. Partner with tooling resources to improve and enhance production molds. Troubleshoot and resolve complex molding quality and efficiency issues. Ensure essential elements of data control and records retention are applied to processing parameters and injection molding machine (IMM) settings so that current, accurate processing information is readily accessible and understandable to all required personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, optimize, and troubleshoot injection molding processes
Establish and maintain IMM settings and process parameters
Support mold design, tooling improvements, and production readiness
Work with automation, robotics, and secondary operations
Perform part sampling, data collection, and basic SPC analysis
Develop and improve molding processes for new and existing products
Assist with robot programming and EOAT verification
Identify and resolve molding, tooling, and quality issues during launches
Document process settings, changes, and lessons learned
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on injection molding experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Strong understanding of injection mold qualification and initial process development and validation
Proven ability to establish, control, improve, and debug injection molding processes, including cycle time reduction
Working knowledge of molding concepts including non-Newtonian flow, pressure-limited injection, and systematic decoupled molding
Experience with and understanding of material flow characteristics, molding parameters, and properties of engineering and commodity-grade resins
Thorough understanding of injection molding machine (IMM) operation, machine states, controller types, and process monitoring capabilities
Basic knowledge of injection mold design principles
Basic understanding of automation, industrial robotics, and secondary operations commonly used in injection molding
