Job Summary:

The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the ammonia refrigeration system, air compressors, HVAC systems, and various facility equipment. The technician will also support building maintenance and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role involves direct interaction with contractors and warehouse leaders to maintain equipment efficiency and support plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, and facility HVAC systems.
  • Ensure the proper function of power distribution systems and perform repairs and troubleshooting on various equipment.
  • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for preventative maintenance and corrective tasks.
  • Support building maintenance, including electrical work and light repairs to material handling equipment.
  • Comply with all safety and regulatory guidelines (local to federal).

Skills & Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED (minimum).
At least 5 years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience (preferred).
Experience with air compressors and electrical systems (up to 460V).
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to detect mechanical issues.
