Industrial Maintenance Technician

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production machinery and support systems in a heavy industrial metal fabrication facility. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and safety by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in metal forming, cutting, and welding processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of heavy industrial equipment including presses, CNC machines, weld cells, plasma cutters, conveyors, and material handling systems.

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.

• Diagnose PLC-related faults (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron preferred) and support controls troubleshooting.

• Maintain and repair auxiliary systems such as air compressors, chillers, and water systems.

• Perform fabrication, welding, and machining as needed to support maintenance activities.

• Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures at all times.

• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.

• Record maintenance activities, parts usage, and downtime in the CMMS system.
