Job Summary:
The Toolmaker is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools and dies in an industrial manufacturing environment. This position requires a solid understanding of die work operations, machine operations, and tool design. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with various tool room equipment, press and assembly operations, and quality procedures. A strong background in troubleshooting and blueprint reading is essential.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain all tool room equipment including measuring instruments.

• Troubleshoot and repair dies and tooling used in manufacturing processes.

• Read and interpret blueprints, dimension drawings, and technical specifications.

• Knowledge of Press and Assembly Operations.

• Provide own tools and ensure proper maintenance.

• Perform quality checks and inspections in compliance with company procedures.

• Collaborate with the team to improve manufacturing processes.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficient in troubleshooting, materials, methods, machines, tools, and practical applications of tooling.

• Sound understanding of die work and tool operations.

• Proficient in operating tool room equipment, including measuring instruments.

• Basic knowledge of automation and computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).

• Ability to provide own tools for work.

• Blueprint reading and drafting knowledge.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in tool and die is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a tool and die capacity.

• On-the-job training in heavy industrial manufacturing.

• Journeyman certification is a plus.
