Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer requirements in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role involves supporting product launches, leading quality system development, managing supplier quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will apply advanced problem-solving techniques, conduct inspections, and collaborate across departments to maintain world-class standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and implement quality systems in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016.
Lead and participate in APQP and PPAP processes.
Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, Flow Diagrams, and related documentation.
Perform root cause analysis using structured methodologies (8D, Drill Deep, 5-Phase).
Conduct inspections using metrology tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM.
Support weld, stamping, and assembly processes with quality expertise.
Analyze CMM and scan data; interpret results for continuous improvement.
Work directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance.
Support customer requirements related to safety, body structure, and performance.
Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure quality in new product launches.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quality, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering; or equivalent experience in the Quality field.
Minimum 5 years of quality engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of welding and assembly processes, body-in-white (BIW) structures, chassis systems, and crash safety reinforcements.
Advanced proficiency in CAD and computer applications.
Hands-on experience with measurement and inspection tools (height gauge, vernier, micrometer, indicators).
Strong understanding of GD&T and metrology methods.
Proven experience with supplier quality management.
Familiarity with quality systems such as QSB+, BIQS.
