Position Title: Safety & Environmental Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)

Overview:
We are seeking a Safety & Environmental Manager to lead our organization’s health, safety, and environmental programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations, developing safety training initiatives, and fostering a strong culture of safety across the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead safety program improvements, environmental compliance initiatives, and site security measures.
• Conduct safety surveys, inspections, and risk assessments; document findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement prevention strategies.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims and maintain injury prevention programs.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends and develop targeted safety initiatives.
• Maintain Hazard Communication and Safety Data Sheet programs.
• Plan and lead employee safety training programs and certification audits.
• Develop and implement security programs, including emergency response, crisis management, and physical security protocols.
• Serve as a resource and advisor to leadership on safety and security policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of safety, health, and environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
• 2–3 years of operational experience with proven leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with safety management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 18000 preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
