Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Job Type: Full-Time

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee all phases of plant manufacturing. The Operations Manager will ensure safe and efficient production processes, manage labor and materials effectively, and lead production teams to meet goals while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. This role is crucial for maintaining product consistency, minimizing costs, and ensuring a high-quality product that meets customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage plant operations, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning work schedules, and evaluating team performance.
  • Oversee the conversion of raw materials into finished products, optimizing production to minimize waste and labor costs.
  • Ensure product consistency, particularly in raw material formulas and product quality.
  • Control and monitor the rotation of dough, meal, and raw materials.
  • Maintain a 5S environment and manage production schedules to meet operational goals.
  • Comply with customer service and company standards while maintaining safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Review production reports and address issues related to operations, manufacturing, and maintenance to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure the effective training and development of employees to prepare for future plant needs.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times and comply with all company policies and regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years prior plant management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, product manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Expertise in SAP and other MS Office Suite tools.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a high-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and contribute to the development of strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with food safety, quality, and GMPs.
