IoT Engineer
Job Summary:
We’re seeking an experienced IoT Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced quality and automation systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation and ongoing maintenance of in-line detection systems, launching new processes, and ensuring all production performance and quality targets are achieved. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in industrial IoT, coding, automation systems, and manufacturing best practices.
Develop, fine-tune, and maintain in-line detection systems using team feedback and continuous monitoring.
Ensure production systems meet all required specifications and quality standards.
Collaborate with the Quality team to confirm and execute control plans during launch phases.
Identify root causes of production or delivery issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
Optimize performance related to materials, scrap reduction, labor efficiency, and operational costs.
Verify proper functionality of error-proofing systems (poke yokes) and validate production readiness through run-at-rate testing.
Lead coordination efforts with Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 suppliers and partners.
Support spare parts inventory setup, budget planning, and SAP system entries.
Manage the transition of projects from engineering to production teams.
Conduct cross-functional production review meetings to assess and resolve safety, quality, delivery, and performance concerns.
Communicate launch readiness and maintain performance metrics throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment.
Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement complex systems.
Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, and manufacturing automation within the automotive sector is a plus.
Proficiency in coding with Python, OpenCV, MQTT, JSON, and working within Linux (Ubuntu).
Experience in database management (MS SQL) and front-end development tools such as React and HTML.
Comfortable in both office and shop floor environments with occasional physical activity such as walking, standing, or lifting light materials.
