IoT Engineer
Job Summary:
We're partnered with a global automotive manufacturer seeking a Press IoT Engineer to support the integration of smart technologies and mechanical systems within our high-volume manufacturing environment. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer with both mechanical and programming expertise to contribute to cutting-edge process innovation, including the implementation of advanced camera systems used for real-time press monitoring and control.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to implement IoT solutions across press lines, focusing on improving efficiency, uptime, and data visibility
Program and troubleshoot connected devices and systems, with a strong emphasis on Python and C++ development
Support integration of camera-based monitoring technology (e.g., red light detection systems), ensuring proper installation, calibration, and functionality
Develop and maintain interfaces that allow mechanical systems to communicate with control platforms and databases
Use SQL to query and analyze process data, generate reports, and support decision-making based on real-time insights
Support ongoing improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and data to reduce downtime and enhance press operations
Ensure robust documentation, version control, and compliance with internal engineering and IT standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering applications, preferably in automotive or industrial environments
Strong programming skills in Python (required)
Familiarity with C++ and SQL (strongly preferred)
Experience working with connected hardware, camera systems, or industrial sensor integration
