Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Controls Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic weld cells. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals experienced in industrial automation and control systems within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and program PLC and HMI systems for automation equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in control systems to reduce downtime.
Integrate industrial robots for welding and material handling tasks.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement new equipment and upgrades.
Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics and logic diagrams.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Provide training and technical support to maintenance teams.
Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3 years in industrial controls, preferably with metal stamping or robotic welding.
Proficiency in Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC programming.
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition).
Familiarity with robotic systems such as Fanuc or ABB.
Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of relevant electrical standards.
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
Occasional travel required.
Preferred Skills:
Motion control and servo systems.
Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, DeviceNet).
CAD tools for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
