Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Furniture Design Engineer with a strong background in CAD modeling and a passion for functional, high-quality furniture design. In this role, you will play a critical part in turning customer concepts into production-ready designs, working closely with both the engineering and manufacturing teams. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS, a strong understanding of materials like wood and upholstery, and the ability to optimize designs for both quality and production efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Design & Development: Develop detailed and accurate furniture designs that align with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal manufacturing capabilities.

• CAD Modeling: Create 3D models and 2D shop drawings using SOLIDWORKS. Models will also be used for CNC programming and prototyping.

• Manufacturing Support: Partner with the production floor to support manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless fabrication and assembly.

• Process Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings, quality enhancement, and reduced lead times through design and production optimization.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure alignment between design intent and execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS; certifications are a strong plus.

• Experience designing furniture or similar wood-based products.

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials (especially wood and upholstery), and shop floor practices.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset.

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
