Job Summary:
A Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment used in the manufacturing process to ensure the successful execution of production activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection, to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and equipment. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues using troubleshooting techniques, diagnostic tools, and equipment manuals. Conduct repairs and adjustments to machinery, components, and systems to restore functionality and prevent production disruptions.
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to established procedures and maintenance schedules. Identify and replace worn or defective parts, such as belts, bearings, motors, and sensors, before they cause equipment failures or breakdowns. Perform predictive maintenance tasks, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to detect potential equipment failures and address them proactively.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, alarms, or abnormal operating conditions to minimize production disruptions. Analyze equipment performance data, diagnostic reports, and maintenance records to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to resolve complex technical problems and optimize equipment performance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and risk assessments on equipment and work areas, and take corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards. Report safety incidents, near misses, and hazards to management and participate in safety training and awareness programs.
