Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Furniture Manufacturing Engineer to optimize our manufacturing processes and ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. This role involves designing, implementing, and improving production systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within our furniture manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for furniture production, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to translate product designs into manufacturable solutions.
- Define and document product routing, including the sequence of operations, workflows, and resources required for production.
- Identify and document specific processes, tools, and equipment needed for each stage of production.
- Integrate routing documentation into ERP systems to enable accurate scheduling and tracking.
- Establish and maintain quality standards and metrics to ensure product consistency and compliance.
- Identify root causes of defects or failures and implement corrective actions.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality protocols. - Evaluate, select, and implement new equipment and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery to ensure minimal downtime.
- Train staff on the proper use and maintenance of new technologies and equipment.
- Implement eco-friendly manufacturing practices to reduce waste and energy consumption
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Lead Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, or other continuous improvement efforts.
- Use data analysis to track performance and inform decision-making.
- Develop training materials and provide ongoing education to manufacturing staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in furniture manufacturing or a similar industry. - Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. - Familiarity with woodworking, upholstery, metalworking, and finishing processes.
