Job Description

Job Summary:
 
The Quality Engineer will ensure the quality of parts produced is in alignment with our quality assurance program designed to ensure the prevention or elimination of defects in our new or existing products. The Quality Engineer will provide guidance to our highly focused Quality Assurance team with the goal of exceeding customer quality performance expectations. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager/General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain documentation for ISO and QA certifications.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer quality concerns and ensure proper communication.
  • Prepare documentation for testing related to PPAP requirements.
  • Analyze reports, specifications, and prints for potential quality issues.
  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, and inspection documents.
  • Interpret Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T) standards.
  • Program and measure using Faro Arm technology.
  • Inspect in-process and finished weld assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality-related production problems.
  • Track and address internal and external non-conformances.
  • Perform root cause analysis for quality issues.
  • Develop and implement inspection methods and procedures for inspectors during production.
  • Formulate corrective actions for identified issues.
  • Analyze SPC data for product and process improvements and determine key characteristics.
  • Prepare prototype sample submission packages.
  • Review and interpret customer specifications, guiding relevant team members.
  • Conduct gauge/fixture calibrations.
  • Monitor control charts regularly to ensure compliance.
  • Provide updates on quality costs to administration.
  • Conduct internal audits as required.
  • Visit customer plants as necessary.
  • Comply with company health and safety rules.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
  • Follow all operational procedures and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality, and Environment programs (e.g., IATF, ISO 14001).
