Sr. Sales Engineer


Join a well established and highly successful company as they prepare to transition accounts from a retiring sales leader. Call on the commercial HVAC Plan and Spec / Design Build market, collaborate on how best to capture opportunities, and develop new and inventive customer solutions.

Reports to: Director of Sales

Our client is a 20+ year old stocking manufacturer's representative and custom manufacturer serving the commercial HVAC markets of New England. They work with engineers, contractors, and owners to provide high quality engineered products and services primarily in the plan and spec market. Representing nationally known and respected manufacturers, they are able to meet the needs of today's fast-paced projects from their modern 60,000 sq ft facility, extensive inventory, and quick delivery service, ensuring customer satisfaction for even the most demanding projects.

 

Position Summary:

 

The Sr. Sales Engineer will educate and assist engineers, contractors and customers in applying and selecting technical HVAC products.

 

Essential Functions:
  • Call on consulting engineers to learn of and review project plans
  • Present products, features and benefits of potential project solutions
  • Lead the take off, sizing and selection, verification and specification of HVAC equipment
  • Provide quotes, submittals, and technical product support to contractors and end-users
  • Work with manufacturers to promote products and to educate engineers, contractors and owners on product features and applications
  • find areas of growth for product lines
What You Need for this Position:
  • At least a few years of HVAC experience
  • An understanding of the application of air-side HVAC products preferred
  • Experience either selling to mechanical engineers or being one yourself
  • Knowledge of local mechanical engineering firms in the Boston area is preferred (and having existing relationships is highly desirable)

Travel:

 

This position requires frequent and regular regional travel up to 60%. 

 

Education and Experience:

 

Four-year, technical college degree from an accredited institution preferred, will consider highly qualified candidates without degrees.

5+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC industry required, Plan & Spec and Air Distribution products preferred.

Experience working with Engineers and/or Mechanical contractors preferred.
