Role: Marketing Generalist
Contract: Full-time Remote Contractor (160 hours monthly)
Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 11 AM - 7 PM EST
Rate: $9 - $12.50 USD hourly / $1,440 - $2,000 monthly (Salary is negotiable depending on experience and location)
Availability to Start: Immediately

This established Maryland-based mental health and rehabilitation center specializes in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals seeking support with psychiatric conditions, substance abuse recovery, and physical rehabilitation. With a strong focus on personalized treatment, the center provides services in psychiatric rehabilitation, substance abuse programs, sports therapy, and medication-assisted treatment.

What You'll Do
As a Marketing Generalist, you will be responsible for managing the organization’s digital presence across content creation, community engagement, and patient marketing initiatives. You are a creative and execution-driven professional who serves as the bridge between brand messaging and audience engagement, ensuring consistent storytelling, strong online reputation management, and steady growth in new and returning patient inquiries through strategic and empathetic marketing efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  •  Content Creation & Short-Form Media
    • Plan and execute a monthly content calendar focused on behavioral health awareness and education.
    • Create engaging visual content, including static posts, infographics, short-form videos and animations, for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
    • Draft educational, empathetic copy (including captions for posts, email content and blog posts).
    • Collaborate on marketing assets for brand ambassadors (athletes and influencers) to expand community reach.
    •  Utilize a project management tracker and content tracking to ensure team visibility and adherence to deadlines.
  • Internal Patient Engagement & Automation
    • Develop and manage comprehensive automated engagement flows to support the patient journey (e.g., "Missed Appointment" re-engagement sequences).
    • Coordinate and distribute email newsletters to patients, focusing on practice updates, behavioral health education, wellness tips, and internal resources. 
    • Manage project tasks and campaign progress transparently using Trello (or a similar project management tool). 
    • Ensure all patient communications are HIPAA-aware and reflect the practice's compassionate brand voice.
  •  Community Engagement & Response Efficiency
    • Monitor social media channels and engage with the community by responding to comments and direct messages in a timely, empathetic manner.
    • Maintain a high-touch presence that fosters safety and trust for individuals inquiring about behavioral health services.
  •  Performance Tracking & Brand Integrity: 
    • Track and report on key marketing metrics (engagement, traffic, conversions) across platforms.
    • Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve campaign performance over time. 
    • Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure 100% accuracy in all behavioral health educational content. 
    • Ensure all marketing materials reflect company's clinical standards and brand voice.
What You Should Have
Must-haves:
  • At least 3 years of experience in digital marketing, specifically within Healthcare or Behavioral Health.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting a North American company in a remote capacity. 
  • Strong expertise in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and marketing fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in video editing and graphic editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Photoshop, Canva) to create animations and short-form video content. 
  • Hands-on experience with marketing scheduling and analytic tracking tools such as Meta Business Suite and Hootsuite (or similar software).
  • Exceptional copywriting and caption writing skills, translating clinical insights into engaging educational posts.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with a North American/neutral accent. 
  • Proven ability to write with empathy and a "human" brand voice, avoiding overly corporate or stiff styles.
  • Highly proficient in using Trello (or similar software) for project management and maintaining a high level of organizational transparency. 
  • Must be comfortable with flexible working hours (11 AM – 7 PM EST preferred) and productivity tracking with screenshots. 
  • Ability to manage and execute automated marketing flows and internal patient marketing across various platforms.
  • Experience crafting email automation flows and newsletters (using Klaviyo or similar email marketing automation platforms). 
  • Demonstrated ability to take rough ideas or provider insights and turn them into polished, high-quality marketing assets efficiently. 
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA guidelines as they relate to healthcare marketing and patient privacy.
  • Technology Specifications: 
    • Minimum 100 Mbps Internet Speed

    • Minimum Intel i5 8th gen with 8GB of RAM or Apple M1 chip with 8GB of RAM

Nice-to-haves: 
  • Certifications in Google Ads or Meta Blueprint. 
  • Basic skills in updating website content. 
  • A fundamental understanding of SEO/UX best practices. 
  • Familiarity with ambassador/athlete marketing and podcast setup/promotion.
