What You'll Do
As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving a scalable LMS platform from the ground up. You are a highly autonomous and hands-on builder who takes ownership of the full development lifecycle, from architecture and framework migration to feature development, platform stability, QA, and ongoing enhancements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Migration & Platform Build
    • Evaluate the current HTML-based LMS platform to identify limitations, scalability bottlenecks, and data structures.
    • Create a technical roadmap planning, helping prioritize features, scalability improvements, and platform capabilities.
    • Own and lead the migration of the platform from a static HTML codebase to a dynamic, scalable framework (Python/Django, FastAPI, or Node.js/Next.js).
    • Architect and build a modular backend that enables the platform to be easily adapted for different audiences (e.g., Law Enforcement vs. Student-Athletes).
    • Develop and deploy core platform features, including learning modules, curriculum tracks, and AI-assisted tools aligned with business strategy.
    • Collaborate on design requirements and take ownership of the responsive UI/UX implementation.
    • Take full ownership of frontend and backend implementation, ensuring clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
    • Translate wireframes into polished, responsive, and intuitive interfaces, ensuring a high-quality website aesthetic.
  • Platform Ownership, Maintenance & Support
    • Own the ongoing performance, stability, and reliability of the platform, ensuring 99.9% uptime and strong system health.
    • Manage server-side operations, database performance, and infrastructure as needed.
    • Partner with Operations and Marketing to implement new features, landing pages, and integrations that support growth and user engagement.
    • Lead QA and testing for all releases, ensuring functionality, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness.
    • Continuously improve platform performance, including load times, scalability, and SEO technical requirements (Core Web Vitals).
    • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization, feature improvements, and technical enhancements.
What You Should Have
Must-haves:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Full-Stack Engineer, with strong proficiency in Python (Django/FastAPI) or modern JavaScript (React/Next.js).
  • Proven experience leading or owning the refactoring or migration of a legacy codebase into a modern, scalable framework.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a remote, global environment with a North America or EU-based company.
  • Strong ability to design and build scalable backend systems and APIs, with a clear understanding of system architecture and modular design.
  • Solid understanding of how EdTech or content-driven platforms function, including user authentication, content gating, and secure data handling.
  • Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
  • Experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI/Anthropic) to maintain and improve existing AI-assisted tools.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications in a production environment (basic DevOps awareness, hosting, environments, etc.).
  • Technology Specifications:
    • Minimum 100 Mbps Internet Speed
    • Windows 11 or MacOS 15 Sequoia
    • Minimum Intel i5 8th gen with 8GB of RAM or Apple M1 chip with 8GB of RAM
    • Webcam and Headset
    • Designated Office Space in your Home
Nice-to-haves:
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or high-volume content delivery platforms.
  • Understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), dynamic routing, and how they impact SEO and performance.
  • Experience optimizing Core Web Vitals and overall frontend performance.

Who You Are
We hope you are someone who:
  • Takes strong ownership of your work and remains accountable for both development quality and long-term platform performance.
  • Prefers practical, scalable solutions and avoids unnecessary complexity or over-engineering.
  • Can communicate complex technical concepts clearly and translate them into understandable business terms.
  • Works independently, stays self-directed, and consistently delivers milestones with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains composure and focus during high-pressure situations, including critical bug fixes and platform migrations.
