Job Description

Role: Account Manager (Pharmaceuticals / Med-Surg)
Contract: Full-time Remote Contractor (40 hours weekly / 160 hours monthly)
Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM EST
Rate: $2,900 - $3,300 USD monthly / $35,000 - $40,000 USD annually (Salary is negotiable based on experience and location)
Availability to Start: Immediately

What You'll Do
As the Account Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our client relationships, fostering strong partnerships that drive both client satisfaction and company growth. We are seeking an Account Manager who will be the main point of contact for assigned accounts. You'll delve into their needs, address their concerns with precision, and craft bespoke solutions that exceed expectations. Your role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of client accounts, including reactivating and nurturing dormant accounts, where you'll uncover opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, ensuring our clients maximize the value of our offerings. Your experience in selling medical equipment will be particularly valuable as you engage with healthcare professionals and facilities.

Your core responsibilities will include the following:
  • Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their needs, preferences, and business goals. Establish trust and rapport to become a reliable advisor.
  • Oversee the health and status of assigned accounts, ensuring clients are satisfied and their expectations are met or exceeded. Proactively identify and address any potential issues.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing all communications and inquiries. Ensure timely and effective resolution of client concerns and requests.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand accounts through upselling and cross-selling strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase client spend and maximize revenue.
  • Ensure all client needs are met within the agreed service level parameters. Coordinate with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Act as the quarterback for client-related initiatives, coordinating with various departments to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our products and services. Provide clients with accurate and comprehensive information to help them make informed decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to encourage satisfied clients to refer new business. Track and measure referral success and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Regularly review account performance metrics and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored strategies that align with their business objectives and drive mutual success.
  • Provide training and support to clients on product usage, best practices, and new features. Ensure clients are fully utilizing our products to their maximum potential.
  • Collect and relay client feedback to internal teams to drive product and service improvements. Advocate for client needs within the organization.

What You Should Have
Must-haves:
  • At least five years of experience in Strategic Account Management, Sales Development, or Business Development within a medical supply, pharmaceutical, healthcare distribution, or a related medical-supply B2B industry.
  • At least one year of experience working with companies based in the US or similar markets.
  • Experience selling products rather than services to physician offices or surgical centers.
  • Established distributor relationships and strong familiarity with distributor networks.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated success in driving account growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address client issues and identify opportunities for Improvement.
  • Skilled negotiator with the ability to close deals and manage contract renewals.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves:
  • Experience in pharmacy purchasing or pharmaceutical billing.
  • Exposure to 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy workflows.
  • Prior nearshore support experience for U.S. healthcare clients.
  • Experience optimizing SOPs or fulfillment procedures.
  • Background in medical distribution or MedTech.
