Job Description

Job Title: Cash Applications Specialist

About the Role: 
Responsible for efficient receipt and processing of incoming payments in various forms (check, ACH, wire, credit cards, etc.) to customer accounts, utilizing strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Includes analysis of over- and short-pays, proper application to customer accounts, and daily reconciliation of all transactions.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

• Receive and post customer payments from all sources, including lockboxes, EFT, wire transfers, etc.
• Identify customers' remittances and post payments to the correct account by invoice/load number.
• Create short pays and deductions on customer accounts as directed by remittance advice.
• Process account adjustments as instructed by management.
• Coordinate with the Collections Department on payments received, application of payments, and payments received without remittance advice.
• Balance cash postings to cash receipts.
• Maintain cash receipts records and files for any required research/audit. Assist with any research related to short pays and deductions.
