A Driver Screening role is focused on vetting candidates to ensure they are safe,
reliable, and qualified to operate company vehicles. Key components include
verifying a clean driving record, conducting background checks, assessing, and
requiring a valid license. It ensures compliance with safety regulations and reduces
company liability.
Key Responsibilities in Driver Screening:
● Driving Record Verification: Meticulously review motor vehicle records (MVRs)
to identify violations, accidents, or license suspensions.
● Background & Reference Checks: Conduct thorough background checks
(criminal records) and check references with previous employers to confirm
experience and reliability.
● Licensing Validation: Verify that the candidate holds a valid, appropriate class
of driver’s license.
● On-Road Assessment & Competence Test: Administer practical, on-road
driving evaluations conducted by approved, qualified examiners.
● Medical & Physical Evaluation: Ensure the candidate is physically and mentally
fit for the role, including drug screening if required.
● Safety Compliance Verification: Confirm knowledge of traffic laws, safety
regulations, and proper vehicle operation procedures.
