Position Overview:
Responsible for prospecting, acquiring, and nurturing new client relationships within the logistics and transportation sector. You will work closely with prospects to understand their unique shipping needs, propose tailored solutions, and close business that contributes to the growth and success of our client with an end-to-end supply chain solution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive B2B sales and success experience, deep business analysis and negotiation skills, an understanding of logistics and transportation solutions, and a passion for driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and target new business opportunities through cold calling, outreach tasks, networking, and inbound leads. Build a robust pipeline of potential clients in the logistics and transportation space.
- Solution Selling: Analyze customer shipping and logistics needs and present clients transportation solutions to optimize their supply chains, create a strategic modal strategy, find business ROI in strategic partnership investments, and improve efficiency.
- Sales Presentations & Demos: Lead business presentations and discussions with potential clients to effectively communicate our value proposition, product offerings, competitive advantages, and a custom-tailored design solution.
- Negotiation & Closing: Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach to final contract negotiation and closing deals. Ensure all terms and agreements are aligned with company policies and customer requirements.
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as their trusted advisor and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Nurturing the relationship to help continue to grow the business and partnership past the initial sale.
- Collaboration with Operations Teams: Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth implementation and delivery of transportation services, ensuring client needs are met.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings.
- Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Track sales performance, update CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and provide regular reports on pipeline progress, sales activities, and revenue forecasts.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed individual sales quotas and KPIs, contributing to the company’s overall growth and success.
Qualifications:
- Proven Sales Success: Demonstrated ability to prospect and drive new business development, sell, and close business while meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of logistics, transportation management systems, and supply chain solutions. Familiarity with freight, 3PL services, or global shipping is a plus.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication is required, as well as the ability to present complex logistics solutions clearly and persuasively to decision-makers at all levels.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with key stakeholders.
- Problem Solver: Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess customer needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
