Job Title: Vendor Relations Specialist
Reports To: Procure-to-Pay Director

Job Summary:
The Vendor Relations Specialist supports the Procure-to-Pay function within a fast-moving transportation and logistics environment. This role manages relationships with key carriers and service providers, ensures accurate financial processing, and drives operational efficiency across the vendor network. Reporting to the Director of Procure to Pay, the position partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain service reliability, cost control, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Claims, Compliance, and Operations—to resolve carrier issues, support service performance, and maintain smooth freight and logistics workflows.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and financial controls throughout all vendor and carrier interactions.
• Reconcile carrier and vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and communicate resolutions promptly to maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage and strengthen relationships with carriers and logistics service providers, serving as a primary point of contact for escalations, performance discussions, and issue resolution.
• Process and validate invoices from carriers and vendors, ensuring accuracy in rates, accessorials, freight charges, and contract alignment.
• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline Procure-to-Pay processes based on insights from vendor performance, invoice trends, and operational data.
• Collect and analyze vendor-related data to identify trends, support cost-reduction initiatives, and improve overall supply chain efficiency

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or carrier relationship management
• Strong understanding of freight billing, accessorial charges, and carrier compliance
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational and financial data
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with ERP systems, TMS platforms, and Excel
