Job Description:

The Procurement Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with transportation carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and efficient logistics solutions. This role will be key in supporting our clients’ transportation needs in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate prospective truck carriers across various regions by phone or email to expand capacity and meet client demands
  • Maintain accurate records of carrier pricing in the company database and transportation management software.
  • Monitor transportation market trends, freight rates, and capacity availability to inform sourcing strategies and decision-making.
  • Work closely with operations and sales to align sourcing efforts with client needs
  • Negotiate competitive rates, terms, and service agreements with carriers while ensuring alignment with company profitability goals
  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers based on market conditions, lane density, and customer requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with a network of carriers and transportation providers to ensure capacity availability
  • Analyze market trends and pricing data to identify opportunities for cost savings

Required Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry trends
  • Detail-oriented

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or carrier management within transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage
