Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operations Specialist to join our team in Monterrey, Mexico. The ideal candidate will oversee and optimize our operations within the region, ensuring efficiency and compliance with local regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, customs brokers, and internal partners.
- Execute day-to-day transportation needs
- Accepting and building loads from our customers and internal stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for understanding how our customers send us loads, acknowledging the customer when received, and lastly building them accurately.
- Identify issues, utilize resources to determine the best course of action, and implement solutions
- Respond to customer/carrier inquiries and provide updates on time
- Understand customer/carrier rating to provide quotes to customers based on specific freight criteria properly
- Manage Customer Bid Boards/TMS Systems when applicable
- Understand customer processes and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain daily reporting schedule utilizing internal systems
- Generate and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records and shipment documentation
- Effectively communicate necessary changes or adaptations important to the customer shipments on time
- Process all inbound, outbound, and return shipments using TMS (Mercury Gate) software and other tools for accurate and timely delivery
- All other duties that may be reasonably assigned, including special projects and cross-training in other departments.
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Previous experience in transportation/logistics with cross-border logistics.
- Experience with a carrier or 3PL focusing on cross-border transportation and extensive carrier relationships is preferred.
- Experience working in a Transportation Management System (TMS) is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- High level of organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to problem-solve on the spot.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Geographical knowledge of the USA and Mexico.
- The ability to read, write, type, and speak English and Spanish fluently is a requirement for this position.
