About the Role:
As an Installation Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of installation projects from planning through to completion. You will act as the central point of contact between clients, internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring all parties are aligned on scope, timelines, and deliverables. Your attention to detail and structured approach will help minimise risk, control variations, and ensure installations are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end installation schedules, ensuring resources, materials, and access are in place for each project.
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors to confirm scopes of work, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work orders, installation plans, and progress reports.
- Monitor installation progress against plans, identifying risks or delays and escalating or re-planning as required.
- Communicate regularly with clients and internal stakeholders to provide updates and manage expectations.
- Review site information, drawings, and technical specifications to support accurate planning and execution.
- Track and verify completion of installations, ensuring sign-offs, documentation, and handovers are properly completed.
- Support post-installation activities such as snagging, defect resolution, and close-out documentation.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a coordination or project support role within installation, construction, engineering, or a similar technical environment.
- Strong project coordination skills, including scheduling, task tracking, and managing multiple concurrent activities.
- Demonstrable technical understanding of installation processes, equipment, and site constraints.
- Experience working with vendors and subcontractors, including managing deliverables and timelines.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to manage information flow between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in using project coordination tools and standard office software for planning and reporting.
- Ability to work under time pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain accuracy.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience coordinating installations across multiple sites or regions.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and compliance requirements related to site installations.
- Exposure to contract administration, including variations and change control.
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards or regulations relevant to the installations being delivered.
- Experience working within a contractor or subcontractor management framework.
Qualifications:
- Relevant vocational qualification or diploma in project management, engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Formal training or certification in project coordination or project management (e.g. Prince2 Foundation, PMP Associate) is advantageous.
- Health and safety training or certification (e.g. CSCS, IOSH, or equivalent) is beneficial depending on sector.
