- Configure, test, and support HMI/SCADA applications, including screen development, tag configuration, and data logging.
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics to verify control panel wiring, I/O assignments, and field device connections.
- Perform on-site PLC commissioning, startup, and functional testing of control systems and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve control system faults, communication issues, and hardware/software failures in the field.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement control strategies, sequence of operations, and safety interlocks.
- Document changes to PLC and HMI programs, maintain version control, and produce as-built documentation.
- Provide technical support and training to client maintenance and operations personnel during and after commissioning.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a PLC Engineer or Controls Engineer working with industrial automation systems.
- Strong hands-on PLC programming skills with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix).
- Practical experience with Siemens PLCs (e.g., S7 series) including configuration, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Solid background in HMI/SCADA configuration, including tag mapping, alarms, trends, and user interface design.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings.
- Demonstrated experience in on-site commissioning, startup, and field support of control systems.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments and traveling to customer sites as required.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving control system issues.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens WinCC, or similar HMI/SCADA platforms.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
- Exposure to VFDs, motion control, and integration of drives and servo systems with PLCs.
- Experience in process industries, manufacturing, or material handling systems.
- Ability to create or update electrical schematics using CAD tools.
- Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and relevant industrial safety standards.
Qualifications:
