About the Role:

As a Contract Technical Supervisor, you will lead and coordinate a technical team to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification. You will oversee day-to-day operations, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Your role will be central to maintaining operational continuity, resolving technical issues, and driving continuous improvement across the projects under your supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a technical team, setting clear expectations and providing daily direction to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities, resources, and timelines to align with contract requirements.
  • Monitor team and project performance, compile reports, and present progress updates and metrics to management and stakeholders.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory, company, and industry standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, escalating complex problems as necessary to maintain operational continuity.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to staff to build technical capability and support professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to address operational challenges and implement process improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a technical supervisory or lead role within an industrial, engineering, utilities, construction, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including performance oversight and feedback delivery.
  • Strong background in performance monitoring, data interpretation, and reporting to management.
  • Solid understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance relevant to technical operations in Ohio.
  • Experience in project planning, coordination, and resource management in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Advanced technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Track record of training and mentoring technical staff to improve skills and performance.
  • Proficient in using standard office and reporting tools (e.g., MS Office) to document and communicate project status.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supervising contract-based or multi-site technical teams.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software, CMMS, or project management tools.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) in technical operations.
  • Prior experience working with external vendors, contractors, or client representatives.
  • Knowledge of Ohio-specific regulatory frameworks relevant to the sector (e.g., OSHA, environmental regulations).

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical management, or a related field preferred.
  • Technical diploma or apprenticeship in a relevant discipline considered with strong supervisory experience.
  • Formal training or certification in safety management or OSHA standards advantageous.
  • Leadership, supervision, or project management training/certification beneficial.
