About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fluid power systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. You will work on-site at customer facilities, applying your mechanical and electrical skills to support production uptime and equipment reliability. Your contribution will directly impact system safety, efficiency, and longevity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and commission fluid power components and systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, in industrial environments.
• Integrate pneumatic systems into existing machinery and production lines, ensuring proper function and compatibility.
• Perform basic electrical and control wiring for fluid power systems, including sensors, valves, and control panels.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on hydraulic systems to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose system issues using diagnostic tools and test equipment, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Repair and rebuild fluid power components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and manifolds to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out mechanical tasks involving fittings, piping, alignment, and mounting of fluid power components.
• Adhere to and apply OSHA and MIOSHA safety regulations during all installation, maintenance, and repair activities.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Fluid Power Technician or similar role in an industrial environment.
• Strong hands-on skills in pneumatic system integration and hydraulic system maintenance.
• Practical experience with basic electrical and control wiring for fluid power systems.
• Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic tools and test equipment to troubleshoot fluid power issues.
• Solid industrial mechanical aptitude, including working with fittings, piping, and mechanical alignment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA safety regulations and their application to field work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site at customer facilities and adapt to varying industrial environments.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with predictive maintenance programs and condition monitoring technologies.
• Familiarity with PLC interfaces and controls related to fluid power systems.
• Background in commissioning complex multi-axis or high-pressure hydraulic systems.
• Experience working in sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, or heavy industry.
• Basic proficiency with CMMS or maintenance tracking software.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certificate or diploma in Fluid Power Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant industry training in hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial safety strongly preferred.
• OSHA safety training certifications and/or MIOSHA-specific training considered an advantage.
