Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Director of Risk Management to join our team in Southern California at our (2) 120+ bed acute care hospitals.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a state-accredited school of nursing or an accredited collegiate program in a health-science-related field. A Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of seven (7) years of director-level experience is required.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) the Director, Risk Management/Accreditation is responsible for directing, organizing, leading, implementing, and supervising day-to-day operations of the Risk Management, Accreditation/Regulatory Compliance, and Infection Control efforts for SWHS. The director serves as the hospital Patient Safety Officer and Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate identified risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and quality.
- Oversee incident reporting and investigation processes.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on risk management activities and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a state-accredited school of nursing or an accredited collegiate program in a health-science-related field.
- Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a Bachelor’s degree with seven (7) years of director-level experience.
- At least four (4) years of leadership experience in an acute care facility.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
