Director of Surgical Services

Location: Riverside, California

Job Type: Permanent, onsite


**Position Summary:**
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the surgical services department. This includes overseeing the daily operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. The Director will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver efficient and effective surgical services.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the surgical services department.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of surgical procedures to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Monitor and manage the department's budget, resources, and supplies.
- Ensure the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in surgical care.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of California, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) preferred.
- Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) preferred.
