Qualifications:
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current Texas nursing license (or compact state equivalent).
Role Summary:
The Director of Labor & Delivery provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. This role assists in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a multi-unit level. The Director assumes 24/7 responsibility for their assigned areas and supports the CNO in ensuring high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, clinical staff competency, and effective resource management related to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice.
- Provide leadership and support for nursing and patient care functions/services.
- Ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care.
- Maintain competency of clinical staff and manage resources effectively.
- Assume 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas.
- Support the CNO in achieving organizational goals and maintaining regulatory compliance.
