We’re looking for a strategic marketing consultant to support our small pharma client on a part-time basis—10-15 hours per week for a 3-month contract. This role is essential in helping evaluate and streamline how marketing supports internal stakeholders, especially sales, operations, and partner teams. We are looking for someone with deep experience and curiosity who knows who to ask the right questions and help bring alignment and clarity to the way marketing and sales functions across the organization and help them grow! This role is ON-SITE in Eden Prairie.
THE ROLE:
The role focuses on a couple different areas: :
- Creative Resource Alignment
- Assess existing creative tools, assets, and processes used by the marketing team
- Understand the nature and scope of requests from field, operations, and partner teams
- Identify creative gaps and recommend improvements to better support internal and external communications
- Conduct a deep dive into the volume, type, and urgency of marketing requests
- Evaluate how marketing can best support sales efforts and manage expectations
- Develop a clear, scalable system to prioritize and track incoming requests
- Sales Alignment & Deliverable Analysis
- Engage directly with sales team members to uncover specific pain points, unmet needs, and past frustrations with marketing support
- Audit and assess current marketing deliverables to determine what is (and isn’t) resonating with the sales field. Focus on key words used by the sales team.
- Identify gaps in communication, expectations, and execution between marketing and sales
- Facilitate productive conversations to bridge the disconnect and build mutual understanding
- Provide a clear analysis of the sales team’s most critical content and resource needs
- Deliver strategic, actionable recommendations for how marketing can better support sales efforts and drive alignment moving forward
DEFINING SUCCESS:
- Clear Deliverable Roadmap Created for Sales
- By the end of the engagement, the consultant has delivered a prioritized list of marketing materials and resources needed by the sales team, along with recommendations for format, messaging, and timing.
- Improved Sales-Marketing Communication & Clarity
- A structured feedback loop or process is established that helps both teams better understand each other’s needs, timelines, and expectations—reducing frustration and building trust.
- Actionable Recommendations Implemented or Ready for Execution
- The consultant presents a final analysis with clear, actionable steps for improving marketing’s role in supporting sales. At least some recommendations are immediately implemented or in progress by the end of the 3-month term.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in marketing, creative strategy, or brand/project management, with strong focus on aligning and tying marketing with business objectives and increases sales
- Strong understanding of sales-marketing alignment and internal stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating structure
- Collaborative, curious, and action-oriented
- Ability to work on-site in Eden Prairie/Minnetonka area.
