The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing, and supporting a team of 7-10 software engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. This role partners closely with Product, IT leadership, and technical contributors to strengthen engineering capabilities, support effective software delivery, and ensure technical solutions align with business objectives. The position provides coaching, performance management, technical leadership, and architectural guidance while maintaining sufficient technical involvement to support engineering decisions, mentor team members, and promote scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.be responsible for leading and managing a team of software engineers to deliver innovative software solutions to achieve the organizations' growth plans. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop software engineers through regular feedback, mentoring, and performance management.
- Build a high‑performing team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Uphold engineering excellence by reinforcing standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, and maintainability.
- Guide technical decision‑making, architecture discussions, and solution design to align with business objectives.
- Partner with Product, Scrum Masters, and IT leadership to support delivery health, team effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Support engineers through complex problem‑solving, production learning, peer reviews, and post‑implementation reflection.
- Promote innovation by encouraging modern engineering practices and responsible use of AI‑enabled development tools.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in engineering processes, technical standards, and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Organizational Leadership or related field, equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 7 or more years of software engineering experience required. Experience in fintech, financial services or other regulated industries preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience managing, coaching, mentoring or leading software engineering teams required.
- Experience in Agile software development environments required.
- Experience with cloud technologies, APIs, MCP, enterprise application architecture and modern software engineering practices preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, MySQL, MSSQL, .NET, Python, Symfony, ORM frameworks, Enterprise Decision Management or Business Decision Management Systems preferred.
