Senior Data & AI Program Manager Consultant

Location & Work Schedule

We are seeking a Senior Data & AI Program Manager Consultant to support a fast-moving AI and data program. This role is responsible for creating visibility across initiatives, resources, priorities, and delivery while enabling technical teams to move quickly.

This is not a traditional project management role. We are looking for a technically fluent, DevOps-minded program manager who can operate effectively in an environment where priorities evolve quickly and development cycles are highly accelerated.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain clear visibility across active initiatives, backlog, parked work, and completed work.
• Track resource availability, capacity, utilization, priorities, and dependencies to support executive decision-making.
• Partner closely with engineering, data, and AI teams to understand work and remove roadblocks.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable work for technical teams.
• Maintain Jira discipline, including backlog visibility, utilization, and velocity.
• Provide concise status, risks, priorities, and tradeoff recommendations to leadership.
• Help teams move quickly without introducing unnecessary process or bureaucracy.

Non-Negotiable Qualifications

• Proven program/project management experience in a technical environment.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Practical familiarity with AI and data technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, Streamlit, LLM/AI platforms, or similar.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both executive stakeholders and technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-changing, high-velocity environments.
• Strong understanding of resource and capacity management.
• Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into actionable work.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly understand a complex AI/data program, create situational awareness, identify resource and priority tradeoffs, and keep teams moving.

They are technical enough to earn the credibility of engineering and data teams, business-minded enough to understand executive priorities, and agile enough to thrive when the plan changes.

We are not looking for a PM who adds process for process's sake. We are looking for a PM who enables speed, clarity, and execution.
