Tier4 Group is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support a large enterprise environment undergoing cloud modernization, infrastructure optimization, and technology transformation initiatives.
This is a senior-level, hands-on architecture role responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud and enterprise infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across Azure, Microsoft technologies, virtualization, enterprise infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will partner closely with IT leadership, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions while providing technical leadership and mentorship across the organization.
Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture
- Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions
- Develop scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise architectures
- Lead cloud adoption, migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business goals
- Create infrastructure roadmaps supporting future growth and strategic initiatives
Enterprise Infrastructure Leadership
- Architect and support enterprise Microsoft environments including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SCCM, SharePoint, and related technologies
- Design and optimize virtualization platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high-availability solutions
- Ensure infrastructure systems remain secure, reliable, and aligned with business requirements
Operations & Optimization
- Monitor, assess, and improve performance across cloud and on-premises environments
- Conduct infrastructure audits and performance reviews to identify improvement opportunities
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, security, and performance issues
- Manage enterprise storage utilization and optimize resource consumption
- Maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
Security & Compliance
- Implement infrastructure security best practices across cloud and enterprise environments
- Support governance, risk, audit, and compliance initiatives
- Ensure alignment with NIST and other applicable security frameworks
- Identify and remediate vulnerabilities and operational risks
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a senior technical advisor for infrastructure and cloud initiatives
- Lead architecture reviews, technical evaluations, and solution design sessions
- Mentor system administrators, engineers, and infrastructure team members
- Provide knowledge transfer, training, and technical guidance
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions
Project Delivery
- Lead infrastructure and cloud projects from planning through implementation
- Support enterprise integrations, acquisitions, and infrastructure consolidation efforts
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or architecture experience
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing Azure solutions
- Strong background in enterprise infrastructure design and architecture
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- Windows Server
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Exchange
- SCCM/MECM
- SharePoint
- VMware and/or Hyper-V
- SAN storage technologies
- Backup and disaster recovery platforms
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, identity management, governance, and security
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and drive infrastructure transformation
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification
- Azure Administrator Associate Certification
- Azure Security Engineer Certification
- MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent certifications
- Experience with Cisco UCS environments
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and infrastructure integrations
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures
- Understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Experience in manufacturing or other large enterprise environments
- Familiarity with creating test plans and operational support processes
