Lead the Technology Behind a Growing SaaS Platform
We are partnering with a growing SaaS organization seeking a Manager, Cloud Infrastructure to help shape the next phase of its cloud and DevOps environment. This is an opportunity to play a key role in scaling the technology that powers the companys products while leading a highly hands-on cloud infrastructure function.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong cloud leader who enjoys being close to the work. You will lead a small team while remaining deeply involved in architecture, infrastructure, automation, reliability, security, and day-to-day technical problem solving.
The ideal candidate is not looking for a traditional people-management role. This position is approximately 75% hands-on technical leadership and 25% team management, making it a great fit for someone who wants to continue building, troubleshooting, and improving cloud environments while also developing a team.
The Opportunity
You will play a key role in evolving the companys Microsoft Azure environment and supporting the infrastructure behind its SaaS products. You will work closely with engineering, security, business stakeholders, and technology partners to ensure the environment is scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
You will have the opportunity to influence both the technical direction and the operating model of the cloud infrastructure function.
What Youll Own
- Guide a team of cloud and DevOps engineers while helping prioritize technical work and professional development.
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader across Azure infrastructure, cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps.
- Help define and execute the roadmap for cloud infrastructure modernization.
- Design and improve scalable, highly available Azure environments.
- Build and maintain automated infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, and related tools.
- Develop and improve CI/CD practices through Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
- Improve visibility into the environment through monitoring, logging, dashboards, and observability tools.
- Partner with engineering and security teams to improve cloud security, governance, and DevSecOps practices.
- Help manage cloud costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
- Work with technology vendors and external partners to ensure effective service delivery.
- Participate in operational escalation and help support critical production issues when needed.
- Establish practical standards and repeatable processes that help the organization scale.
The Technology Environment
This role will work across a Microsoft Azure environment that includes technologies such as:
- Azure App Services and Function Apps
- Azure API Management
- Azure Traffic Manager
- Virtual Networks, NAT Gateways, and Private Endpoints
- Terraform and Bicep
- PowerShell
- Azure DevOps and Azure Repos/Git
- Snyk and SonarCloud
- Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Cloud-native infrastructure and automation tools
Experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar observability platforms is a plus.
What Were Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical professionals.
- Strong recent experience working hands-on with Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, availability, and performance.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and cloud governance.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting production cloud environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience.
