Title: Database Administrator (DevOps Engineer with SQL Focus)
Location: Franklin, WI - Must Be LOCAL

Job Description:
As a Database DevOps Engineer, you will design, implement, and support SQL Server database systems throughout the software development life cycle. You’ll lead initiatives focused on automation, availability, and security, while also supporting complex incident resolution and infrastructure optimization.
This role involves Agile-based delivery, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the opportunity to work with other database technologies and automation tools.
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases with a focus on performance, security, availability, and HADR (High Availability & Disaster Recovery).
Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and create technical solutions.
Design scalable infrastructure aligned with internal standards and compliance.
Identify and resolve complex infrastructure challenges using logical and analytical skills.
Continuously improve existing systems and processes.
Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Mentor and train other team members.
3–5 years of experience with relational databases.
Strong hands-on SQL skills including queries, joins, indexes, and basic data modeling.
Experience with scripting languages: PowerShell, Python.
Familiarity with database platforms: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
Experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Ansible.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to independently analyze problems and drive solutions.
Comfortable working with remote teams and in ambiguous environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Exposure to:
HADR technologies (Mirroring, Replication, SQL Server AOAG).
Power BI and Gateway administration.
ETL, reporting, and analysis tools.
Secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk).
Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira).
Cloud services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
Monitoring tools: ELK Stack, Dynatrace, SolarWinds DPA.
Must-Have:
5+ years working with databases (on-premise and cloud).
SQL Server expertise.
Scripting (PowerShell, Python).
CI/CD & Automation (GitLab, Ansible).
Strong communication with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience with Power BI.
Additional automation scripting and orchestration tools.
Monitoring, secrets management, and Agile project tooling.
