Sr Java Spring Boot Developer – W2 Contract (6+ Months)

We are seeking an experienced Sr Java Spring Boot Developer for a 6+ month W2 contract opportunity with one of our enterprise clients in Reston, VA. This role is remote and includes medical benefits as part of our W2 offering.

This is a multi-year project, so extension is highly likely!

Key Qualifications:

Required Experience - 8+ years:

• Expertise in Spring Boot, Java 11+, Microservices, APIs
  

• Spring WebFlux
  

• Solid understanding of core Java concepts and object-oriented programming

• Strong background in unit, mock, and behavioral testing using tools like JUnit 5, Mockito, and Cucumber

• Knowledge of multi-tier web application development and standard presentation layer technologies

• Familiarity with source code management in a team environment

Preferred Experience:

• Source control systems: Git

• Advanced SQL skills (Sybase preferred; Liquibase a plus)

• Experience in the financial services or mortgage industry, with understanding of related regulations (not required)

• Ability to write UNIX or RHEL-based scripts

Additional Skills:

• Strong knowledge of design patterns and object-oriented design

• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins and pipeline-as-code

• Exposure to front-end technologies like Angular and TypeScript

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and the OpenShift stack

• Knowledge of JMS queue/topic development and usage

• Experience working in Agile/Lean environments; Jira and Confluence familiarity is a plus
