- 2 to 5 years of soldering experience within an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience soldering and de-soldering very small SMT components using magnification tools
- IPC-A-610 certification required
- Experience assembling electronic and electro-mechanical components including PCBs, cable harnesses, modules, and sub-assemblies
- Ability to identify resistors, capacitors, ICs, diodes, LEDs, and common SMT package sizes
- Experience working within an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an experienced Production Assembler to perform electronic and electro-mechanical assembly within a fast-paced aerospace and defense electronics manufacturing environment. This temp-to-hire role will be responsible for assembling printed circuit boards, power supplies, cable harnesses, modules, and sub-assemblies; performing SMT and Through-Hole soldering and rework; reading production drawings and schematics; identifying electronic components; and conducting self-inspection to ensure workmanship and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong soldering skills, IPC-A-610 certification, experience working with very small SMT components, and the ability to maintain accuracy and quality while supporting changing production priorities.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Assembling electronic and electro-mechanical components including power supplies, printed circuit boards, cable harnesses, modules, and sub-assemblies
- Soldering and de-soldering SMT and Through-Hole components
- Working with resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, diodes, LEDs, and other electronic components
- Using soldering irons, hot air equipment, and other soldering and rework tools
- Working with very small SMT components using appropriate magnification equipment
- Identifying electronic component types and verifying correct component placement
- Reading Bills of Material and verifying required components
- Confirming component values and package sizes including 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206 components
- Reading and following production drawings, schematics, mechanical drawings, and work instructions
- Following engineering procedures, manufacturing instructions, and quality requirements
- Performing self-inspection of completed assemblies to verify workmanship standards
- Inspecting parts and performing basic tests to verify quality requirements
- Identifying documentation, assembly, or manufacturing discrepancies
- Performing hardware and component rework, repair, and modifications as required
- Routing and securing wires and wire bundles of various sizes
- Working with standard hardware including screws, nuts, washers, and related components
- Using hand tools and applicable rework equipment safely and accurately
- Working closely with Engineers, Technicians, Production personnel, and management
- Supporting production schedules and daily manufacturing goals
- Maintaining visual management tools and applicable Lean manufacturing tools
- Supporting 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Supporting continuous improvement activities related to quality and production efficiency
- Identifying opportunities to improve assembly processes and product quality
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Following applicable safety and ESD procedures
- Safely lifting, transporting, and positioning units throughout the manufacturing process using lift tables, carts, and other material-handling equipment
- Performing other production and assembly duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 to 5 years of soldering experience within an electronics manufacturing environment required
- Experience soldering extremely small SMT components required
- Experience using magnification tools for detailed electronic assembly required
- IPC-A-610 certification required
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred
- Experience working within an ESD-controlled environment required
- Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 manufacturing environments preferred
- Experience assembling electronic and electro-mechanical products required
- Experience with SMT and Through-Hole soldering required
- Experience using soldering hand tools and rework equipment required
- Ability to identify resistors, capacitors, ICs, diodes, and LEDs required
- Knowledge of common SMT package sizing conventions required
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and production documentation required
- Ability to read assembly instructions and identify documentation discrepancies required
- Experience reading schematics preferred
- Experience working with cable harnesses and wire routing preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality required
- Manual dexterity and ability to work with very small components required
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to use email, internet-based resources, and learn new computer systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required
- Self-motivated and adaptable work style required
- Ability to manage multiple production priorities simultaneously
- Ability to maintain quality and schedule commitments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening
- Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, transport, and position materials or assemblies weighing up to 20 pounds
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailed electronic assembly and soldering work
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work overhead as required during assembly activities
- Manual dexterity required for handling small electronic components, wiring, hardware, soldering tools, and rework equipment
- Ability to perform repetitive fine-motor assembly and soldering activities throughout the workday
- Ability to use magnification tools while soldering, inspecting, and reworking very small SMT components
- Ability to visually inspect electronic components, solder joints, PCB assemblies, wiring, and workmanship details
- Ability to use lift tables, carts, and other material-handling equipment to safely move assemblies through the manufacturing process
- Ability to work around electronic manufacturing equipment, soldering equipment, tools, and normal production activity
- Ability to work within an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow applicable manufacturing, quality, safety, and ESD procedures
- Ability to maintain focus, accuracy, and attention to detail while performing precision electronic assembly work
