FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to support and administer enterprise Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. This is a hands-on administration role focused on day-to-day operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, user management, security controls, and service health across cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong M365 and Azure administration experience, PowerShell scripting skills, an active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph, and the ability to support planning and design discussions for cloud transitions.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Administering Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive as primary day-to-day responsibilities
  • Managing user accounts, permissions, and licensing
  • Monitoring service health, performance, and SLA adherence across enterprise tools and cloud environments
  • Troubleshooting technical issues within M365, Azure, and related enterprise environments
  • Supporting Windows desktop and boot-process troubleshooting as part of continual service improvement
  • Automating administrative tasks using PowerShell
  • Supporting planning and design discussions for on-premises to cloud transitions
  • Implementing security and compliance policies
  • Supporting Azure identity management, authentication, and security administration
  • Documenting configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Providing administration-focused support rather than software development
  • Collaborating with technical teams to support enterprise cloud operations
  • Supporting service improvement, operational stability, and secure cloud administration
  • Performing other duties as assigned

 

The selected candidate will also possess:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant professional experience required
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph required
  • Proven experience as an M365 Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role with a focus on M365 and Azure administration
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Strong understanding of M365 and Azure platforms, including identity management, authentication, and security controls
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management required
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize tasks
  • Cloud certification beyond the fundamentals level in Azure or AWS preferred, such as AZ-104 or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
  • Experience with Tanium, LoginVSI, Cayosoft, 1E, SL1/Voss, Kion, or Splunk preferred
  • Azure performance monitoring experience preferred
  • Citrix VDI experience preferred
  • Windows desktop engineering experience, including boot-process troubleshooting and debugging, preferred
  • Active Directory or Entra engineering experience preferred
  • Python experience preferred
  • Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code experience preferred
  • Ability to work onsite in Ft. George G. Meade, MD
  • Must be authorized to work without sponsorship

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while administering cloud systems, reviewing configurations, monitoring service health, and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday
  • Ability to review technical documentation, security policies, configurations, system alerts, service metrics, and computer screens for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, scripting, documentation, configuration management, and standard computer-based tasks
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, secure facility, or technical work environments as needed
  • Ability to work onsite in a secure environment while following all applicable security, access, and safety procedures
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office or IT equipment as needed

 

Salary Range: Junior: $105 to $110/hour; Intermediate: $130 to $135/hour; Senior: $160 to $165/hour; SME: $175 to $180/hour
