FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Medical Collections Specialist to support accounts receivable, collections, payment posting, and medical billing follow-up within a professional office environment. This role is responsible for processing customer and insurance payments, reviewing Explanation of Benefits documentation, entering payment information, maintaining accurate account records, and assisting with general accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have medical collections or accounts receivable experience, strong data entry skills, and excellent attention to detail.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing accounts receivable and collections duties
  • Processing customer and insurance payments
  • Entering payment information into the system accurately and timely
  • Ensuring customer accounts are current and properly updated
  • Reviewing EOBs, or Explanation of Benefits, and entering information into the system
  • Supporting general accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as assigned
  • Maintaining accurate payment, billing, and account records
  • Following up on outstanding balances as needed
  • Communicating professionally with internal teams, customers, insurance contacts, or related parties as needed
  • Supporting accounting and collections processes with strong attention to detail
  • Performing other duties as assigned by accounting

The selected candidate will also possess:

  • 1 to 2 years of accounts receivable or collections experience
  • Medical collections or medical accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and EOBs preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Good attention to detail
  • Data entry experience
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and update account information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate by phone, email, and in person throughout the workday
  • Ability to review EOBs, account records, spreadsheets, payment information, and computer screens for extended periods
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, data entry, filing, and standard office tasks
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the office as needed
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office files, documents, or supplies

Salary Range: $19 to $21/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
