Job Summary: Works as a mechanical skilled tradesperson supporting the repair and maintenance of the production equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operates Mobile CMMS Device for Reactive Calls and Preventive Maintenance assignments.
- Must use safety awareness in accordance with MIOSHA standard Lockout Tagout, Confined Space, and Hot Work Permits.
- Responsibility for maintaining the mechanics on machining and grinding centers, heat-treat furnaces, and assembly lines.
- Assist in maintaining BTI’s, NVH, Atlas Copco Torque gun, Gauging Station
- General Skills in Pipe Fitting- Threading pipe, Sweating Pipe, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Responsible for maintaining the operation of conveyors, automation, robotics, and mechanical systems.
- Responsible for maintaining the operation of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Force presses, gauging stations, automated welding assembly, Automation – motor/gearbox, for workpiece holding, and pipefitting.
- Will be required to possess Tool room capabilities: Drill Press, bridge ports, grinders, sanders, press, and welding for the purposes of maintenance and repair responsibilities.
- Will be required to possess knowledge of Tribology to perform lubrication routes in accordance with equipment-defined lubrication frequencies.
- Perform filter changes at OEM intervals, balanced with equipment performance-determined intervals.
- Responsible for maintaining all delivery systems (grease, Loctite, rouge, gases)
- Assist in fabrication and/or assembly using prints.
- Inspect and operate various types of mobile equipment such as Hoists, Forklifts (I), cranes (III), and aerial lifts.
- Rigging and lifting heavy loads safely.
- Assist in welding- Tig, Mig or stick welding.
- Follow all safety requirements and processes.
- Must be able to move robots to a safe zone for Mechanical tasks.
- Must effectively troubleshoot failure or imminent failure on equipment.
- Support all Equipment Reliability initiatives.
- Must be able troubleshoot mechanical systems and basic electrical.
- Must work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and formal training.
- Comply with all IATF policies and procedures.
- Able to retain information to improve efficiency and skill sets
- Must be able to train/mentor new maintenance tech’s
- Performs work in a safe manner
- Works well with others in a team environment and demonstrates leadership attributes
- Required to work in team-based environment and independently.
- Must accept direction from various management team members.
- Must be able to work with outside vendors.
- Provide input into plant RCA process (Root Cause Analysis)
- Provide input for periodic PM reviews- Machine Reliability
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of verified mechanical experience. Candidates with at least three (3) years of verified experience who can demonstrate proficiency in all areas listed above may be considered for early promotion.
- Knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience with Preventive Maintenance, CMMS programs.
- General knowledge of Electrical – PLC, CNC controls, machining, grinding, and assembly
- Must have up-to-date technological training and experience of newer state-of-the-art Equipment.
- Must have own tools. Excludes Specialty tools
Preferred Skills and experience:
- Experience in the Automotive industry.
- Rigging certification
- German and/or Spanish language skills
