Our client, a leading provider of custom cabinetry solutions, renowned for our commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, has a need for a Cabinet Design Engineer to join their team! Our client specializes in designing and manufacturing high-end cabinets for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

Position Overview: The Cabinet Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of custom cabinetry solutions, from concept to production. This role requires a combination of creative design skills and practical machining experience to ensure that designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also manufacturable and cost-effective. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, and machining processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:
:
   Design and Development
  • Create detailed cabinet designs and drawings using CAD software.
  • Develop innovative and functional cabinetry solutions based on client specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality and cost requirements.
   Technical Expertise
  • Utilize machining experience to optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Select appropriate materials, hardware, and finishes for each project.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and production drawings.
   Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with clients, sales teams, and production staff to ensure designs meet customer needs and production capabilities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the production team during the
  • manufacturing process.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates on design progress.
   Quality Assurance
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure all designs meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during the production process.
  • Continuously improve design processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cabinet design and machining.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry construction techniques and materials.
  • Experience with CNC machining and other woodworking equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to cabinetry and furniture design.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and production scheduling software.
