We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Screw Machine Setup Operator to join our client's dynamic team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. This position will be working in a machine shop serving the automotive industry. As a Screw Machine Setup Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery, ensuring quality control, and fabricating components to meet production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate automatic screw machinery to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Install and adjust cams, gears, and stops to the screw machine and verify the positioning of cutting tools by using gauges and other instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure accurate production
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stock & load machinery, maintaining proper oil levels, cutting fluids or lube.
  • Keeping machinery free of chip buildup.
  • Monitor the production process to identify and resolve any issues or defects
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. In-process, first piece, and final inspections

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in operating automatic screw machinery (ACME, Grizzly, Davenport) and other related equipment (3 year's experience preferred).
  • Familiar with 3 Pan System and ability to change inserts.
  • Ability to use hand tools, quality control equipment, calipers, micrometers, etc. to check in process inspections.
  • Basic Shop mathematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Understand, adhere, and demonstrate the company's commitment to Quality & Safety.
  • Ability to take and pass 5 Panel drug screen and 5 year National Background (No Violent offenses)
