About the Role:

This role is responsible for safely operating and maintaining field equipment to support rig up and rig down activities on site. You will ensure all operations are performed in full compliance with OSHA and MSHA standards, helping to minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and safety of field operations across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy and field equipment to support rig up and rig down activities according to site plans and procedures.
• Set up, position, and secure equipment and materials on location to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform pre-use inspections, basic maintenance, and safety checks on equipment to identify and report defects or hazards.
• Follow all OSHA and MSHA safety protocols during equipment operation, site movement, and material handling.
• Assist with assembling and disassembling rig components, ensuring proper use of tools, lifting devices, and rigging.
• Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to execute tasks in the correct sequence and within scheduled timeframes.
• Maintain accurate operational and inspection records as required by company and regulatory standards.
• Support general site housekeeping to keep work areas clear, organised, and compliant with safety requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience operating field or heavy equipment in an industrial, construction, mining, or oil and gas environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and MSHA safety standards as they apply to equipment operation and site work.
• Hands-on experience with rig up and rig down processes or similar assembly/disassembly of large field equipment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, job plans, and site safety documentation.
• Strong awareness of hazards, with the ability to identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Physically able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to lift, carry, and manoeuvre equipment as required.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work contract schedules, including extended hours as needed.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in oilfield services, drilling, or mining support operations.
• Familiarity with rigging, slinging, and use of lifting equipment such as cranes or hoists.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues in the field.
• Previous experience working under both OSHA and MSHA oversight on different sites.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Formal equipment operator training or certification preferred.
• OSHA and/or MSHA safety training certifications highly desirable.
