About the Role:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to minimise downtime and extend asset life. You will troubleshoot and repair issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, ensuring equipment operates reliably and safely. Working closely with operations, you will help maintain a safe, efficient facility that meets production and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment according to maintenance plans.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, identify root causes, and complete timely repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Inspect machinery and systems for wear, damage, and safety hazards, documenting findings and corrective actions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to adjust, align, replace, and rebuild mechanical components.
- Interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance procedures to complete work accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status in maintenance logs or CMMS.
- Collaborate with operations and other maintenance staff to prioritise work orders and support production needs.
- Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures during maintenance and repair activities.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or industrial maintenance in a plant, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands-on skills in mechanical systems repair, including bearings, belts, chains, shafts, and gearboxes.
- Practical experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and follow structured maintenance schedules.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify issues through observation, testing, and systematic troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment diagrams.
- Physically able to work on your feet, lift moderate loads, and work in varying environmental conditions.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders and record-keeping.
- Background in maintenance within manufacturing, distribution, or similar high-uptime environments.
- Basic electrical awareness for supporting mechanical repairs (e.g., motors, sensors, switches) within permitted scope.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods in maintenance.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, or basic machining for repair and modification of components.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant maintenance or mechanical certifications (e.g., industrial maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics) advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to the Katy, TX site.
