Job Description

Step into a hands-on role where your mechanical aptitude and CNC experience directly influence production quality and on-time delivery. This is a contract opportunity with a busy manufacturing operation that relies on precise assembly and machining to meet customer demand.

Shift: 5AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday, required most Saturdays

About the Role:

You will be responsible for assembling components and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality parts to specification. Working closely with production and quality teams, you will ensure that assemblies and machined components meet all dimensional, functional, and safety standards. Your attention to detail and ability to adjust CNC programs will help maintain efficient workflow and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Operate CNC 2-axis lathes and CNC 3-axis mills to produce parts within defined tolerances
  • Load and secure workpieces, select appropriate tooling, and set up machines for production runs
  • Monitor machining operations, make minor edits to M-code and G-code programs, and adjust offsets to maintain part quality
  • Inspect finished parts and assemblies using basic measuring tools, identifying and reporting non-conformances
  • Use hand and power tools to perform fitting, fastening, deburring, and finishing operations as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform routine machine checks to support reliable operation
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or machining environment
  • Proficient in the safe use of common hand and power tools
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC 2-axis lathes and 3-axis mills in a production setting
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and basic schematics
  • Practical experience making minor edits to M-code and G-code programs on the shop floor
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in a contract or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with basic quality control tools and documentation practices
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for CNC equipment and tooling issues

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational or technical training in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred
  • Formal CNC operator or machining certification is an advantage
  • OSHA safety training or certification beneficial

If you are a reliable, safety-focused assembler with CNC skills looking for a contract role where your craftsmanship matters, we invite you to apply and contribute to a high-performing production team.
