About the Role:
As a Cement Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating cementing units and pump trucks to support oilfield cementing jobs. You will work closely with field crews to ensure accurate execution of cementing programs, proper handling of materials, and timely completion of all documentation. Your performance in the field will directly impact well integrity, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cementing equipment and pump trucks to perform oilfield cementing jobs according to job programs and company procedures.
- Assist with rig up and rig down of cementing equipment and related iron at well sites.
- Safely handle, mix, and transfer bulk cement and chemicals in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Monitor pumping operations, pressures, and volumes, and communicate any issues to the supervisor in real time.
- Maintain accurate job logs, cementing records, and post-job reports, including volumes, pressures, and additives used.
- Perform routine pre-trip, post-trip, and daily inspections on trucks and cementing equipment, and complete maintenance reports.
- Clean, service, and prepare equipment and tools for upcoming jobs to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Follow all site-specific safety protocols, including PPE use, hazard recognition, and participation in safety meetings and JSA processes.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience operating cementing equipment and pump trucks in an oilfield environment.
- Strong working knowledge of oilfield cementing procedures, practices, and job execution.
- Familiarity with cement additives and their application in various well conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately complete job logs, maintenance reports, and other operational documentation.
- Solid understanding of safe handling and mixing of bulk cement and chemicals.
- Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, in varying weather and field conditions.
- Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow and enforce HSE policies and procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a field crew under direct supervision.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in the Midland/Odessa or Permian Basin region.
- Background in other oilfield service operations (e.g., fracturing, coiled tubing, or wireline).
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor equipment issues in the field.
- Experience using digital systems or software for job reporting and data entry.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
- Clean driving record meeting company and DOT requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Formal oilfield or equipment operation training preferred.
- Current H2S, Safeland, or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
