About the Role:

As a Quality Technician, you will perform inspections and tests on components and finished products to ensure they meet specified requirements. You will work closely with production and engineering teams, using measurement tools and engineering drawings to verify conformance. Your work will support timely production decisions and accurate quality records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections on parts and assemblies according to established procedures and specifications
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine inspection criteria
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other devices to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Conduct basic functional and visual tests to identify defects, nonconformances, and process issues
  • Record inspection results accurately, maintaining clear and complete quality documentation and reports
  • Communicate nonconformances to supervisors and relevant departments, supporting containment and corrective actions
  • Assist in maintaining inspection equipment, ensuring tools are calibrated, properly stored, and ready for use
  • Support continuous improvement activities by providing feedback on recurring quality issues and trends

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a quality inspection or quality technician role within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Solid understanding of basic manufacturing and production processes and how they relate to product quality
  • Ability to complete clear, accurate documentation and quality reports with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working to defined procedures, inspection plans, and quality standards
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, engineering, and supervisory staff
  • Ability to work independently, manage inspection priorities, and meet production timelines

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with basic statistical sampling or inspection plans
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and nonconformance reporting
  • Exposure to root cause analysis and corrective action processes
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and use of quality or ERP systems

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing, quality, or a related field preferred
  • Any relevant quality or inspection certifications (e.g., ASQ or similar) are an advantage
