About the Role:
As a Quality Technician, you will perform inspections and measurements on manufactured components to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards. You will work closely with production teams to identify non-conformances, support root cause investigations, and help maintain consistent product quality. Your work will contribute to safe, efficient operations and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Shift: 11 ON / 3 OFF, 3:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. or work is completed, on a rotating basis
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on parts and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools
- Verify product dimensions, tolerances, and specifications against technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Document inspection results, non-conformances, and rework requirements in logs, forms, or quality systems as required
- Communicate inspection findings to production, engineering, and supervision to support timely corrective actions
- Assist in containment, segregation, and proper identification of non-conforming materials and products
- Support basic root cause analysis activities by providing accurate measurement data and observations
- Monitor work areas for adherence to safety procedures and OSHA requirements, reporting hazards or incidents promptly
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a quality control or inspection role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proficient use of measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and basic inspection fixtures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and dimensional specifications
- Solid understanding of basic manufacturing processes and how they affect part quality and tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement, documentation, and record-keeping
- Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards with minimal supervision
- Awareness of safety practices and OSHA compliance in an industrial or manufacturing setting
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with basic quality systems or documentation (e.g., inspection reports, NCRs, travelers)
- Familiarity with ISO or similar quality management standards
- Basic experience with handheld data collection devices or simple quality software
- Exposure to root cause analysis and corrective action processes
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical certification or coursework in quality, manufacturing, or related field preferred
- Formal training in the use of precision measurement instruments is an advantage
